2013-14 Alumni Advisory Board President
It is with great pride and humility that I now serve my beloved alma mater as the 2013-14 president of the Alumni Advisory Board. Marymount has been a major part of my professional life, since I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees at MU. I am, therefore, grateful and honored to lead the Board, which supports the advancement of our great university by engaging alumni through programming and services.
As the summer ends, I am excited to welcome everyone back for another fun and engaging year at Marymount. If you have not visited campus recently, make the effort to stop by. There cannot be a better time to reconnect with your alma mater, which has truly undergone a remarkable transformation over the past 10 years. With ongoing strong enrollment, Marymount’s reputation has grown, and our campus has been greatly enhanced by the addition of new, state-of-the-art buildings and beautiful landscaping.
Marymount University and the Alumni Advisory Board offer many opportunities throughout the year to help you stay connected with your alma mater and fellow alumni. We host numerous events to promote alumni interaction, networking, and the success of current students. Watch the calendar for your favorites, including Homecoming & Reunion Weekend, networking events, the holiday shopping trip to NYC, the St. Patrick's Day Parade, the Portfolio in Motion Fashion Show, and Mass of Remembrance. And, if you are a recent graduate or mid-careerist, don’t forget to visit the Career Center in Rowley Hall or attend professional development seminars.
Please be sure to read the alumni newsletters and check out the alumni website to stay informed about events and programs. As our alumni network grows, our voice will become even stronger, and we will have greater opportunities to make a positive difference in our communities and beyond. My greatest hope for this year is that all alumni, near and far, be passionate about Marymount University’s mission and purpose.
So as the academic year starts, I encourage you to get, and stay, connected with your alma mater in the ways most meaningful to you, whether that’s reaching out to a former classmate, contacting a professor, or making a donation. There has never been a better time to be a Marymount alum!
